The old place

Welcome to the Old Place. When you walk in the door, immediately on your right you will see this beautiful 100 + year old bar. The bar is well kept and plated with sturdy tableware.

Bartenders

Working at a bar can be demanding and stressful. It requires good time management, thick skin, nerves of steel, and the ability to make an excellent drink. On the right is a bartender from another restaurant that I used as inspiration for the project. On the left is the bartender I used as the subject of my finished work.

Small but important details

I have always appreciated the amount of thought and creativity put into the labels on wine bottles. This reference photo was taken at a wine shop right next to The Old Place.

A woman sitting at the bar kindly offered to pose for my reference photo. Her jewelry added so much character to the scene.

A curated collection of cut-out graphics with an alcoholic theme gathered over many years from estate sales, garage sales, and thrift stores. Each piece exudes vintage charm, serving as the inspiration for this project.
